Hardware Discussion / Re: for gman

the first one is really tempting - i love the idea of a nav-less design that uses layers on the numpad for navigation (but with a T-nav instead of the stupid cross-nav on normal numpads), but it doesnt have an F row!

fwiw, this is the design that im in the process of making (itll be a month or two before im done). ignore the colors

and there'll be a volume wheel at the top right corner

btw sa r3 is...weird. i got it for ortho compatibility, but id rather use a proper SA 11234 or w/e profile for typing. for gaming i think cherry profile is better, but for typing im all about SA

2nd link is another board like your glorious (with the modular switches without soldering) but with a metal frame and better stabilizer bars for modifier keys

If you're interested, a good bit of Battletech discussion happens on Dick's cord too, a lot of people hanging on the Dick's cord are playing it.

fix'd

I'm enjoying it a lot so far. It's the most story rich of any Battletech/Mechwarrior game that I've played.

I haven't done much customization, as I haven't seen a need to. Also, mix maxing isn't what I'm exactly after with a game like this. As for difficulty I'm still on the 1.5 skull missions (have an option for a 2 skull), and nothing has been close. I did lose one pilot early on though. Poor Dekker. So far, I just try to keep my evade up when I am concerned about being hit, focus fire, and limit the angles that opponents have. Vehicles typically die quick, but can pack more of a punch than some mechs, so I prioritize them.

I’m playing about one mission a day, it’s pretty alright. And the fact that there is lore incorporated has been alright so far too.

Easy tips for early game? I’ve heard max armor and weapons to fill heat threshold every round.

The standard in entry level high quality mics for streaming - most colors on sale but randomly super cheap in 2 colors - silver and vintage white.

$75 instead of around 120-130ish

so apparently ninox (the company that provided my guys with some stuff) got a jump on things early as well.  If you like ambi grip (my personal pref) I can't recommend anything more highly.  Light weight, 50mill life clicks, same best sensor, great shape. #6 on rocketjumpninja's list. (rocketjumpninja.com)
$35 - ($25 for the white version, but that was the first batch which has a few bugs)

logitech started their black friday stuff early.  This is the mouse rocketjumpninja (best mouse reviewer i've come across) has at #1 on his top 40.  If you like ergo grip (i don't) this mouse does everything right.  Great clicks, best sensor, light weight with 10g adjustment, great ergo shape
$35
