The standard in entry level high quality mics for streaming - most colors on sale but randomly super cheap in 2 colors - silver and vintage white.

$75 instead of around 120-130ish

Hardware Discussion / ninox mouse

so apparently ninox (the company that provided my guys with some stuff) got a jump on things early as well.  If you like ambi grip (my personal pref) I can't recommend anything more highly.  Light weight, 50mill life clicks, same best sensor, great shape. #6 on rocketjumpninja's list. (rocketjumpninja.com)
$35 - ($25 for the white version, but that was the first batch which has a few bugs)

logitech started their black friday stuff early.  This is the mouse rocketjumpninja (best mouse reviewer i've come across) has at #1 on his top 40.  If you like ergo grip (i don't) this mouse does everything right.  Great clicks, best sensor, light weight with 10g adjustment, great ergo shape
$35

Hardware Discussion / entry level headphone sale - ad700x
« on: August 14, 2017, 12:27:55 AM »
ad700x - one of two of the best headphones for picking up position cues when gaming and this one does okay without an amp (ofc an amp is better when possible).

bass light, wide soundstage, picks up running feet and small details effectively as the expense of booming bass notes-

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD700X-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B009S332TQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502684758&sr=8-1&keywords=ad700x  $88 as of 8/14/17.

Also a quick thing to add to File's recommendation, as the 598 Cs are amazing - but if you want more soundstage and positional audio detection(at the cost of bass and in room sound isolation) the 598 open version is also worth a look - I think they're similar to the game ones he suggested but without the mic

A great option right now

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD700X-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B009S332TQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491606278&sr=8-1&keywords=ad700x

open design (wider soundstage but you hear a lot of ambient noise) - good for sound location in game (footsteps etc) - however this set is very bass light [ https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-E10K-Headphone-Amplifier-Black/dp/B00LP3AMC2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491606460&sr=8-1&keywords=fiio+10k add this amp later and you can prob handle the bass problem if you want to do so - it also add more clarity]

i find that particular boom mic more clear than that blue yetti

I'm so sorry I didn't see this.  Let me know if you're still in the market and I'd be happy to give some other options to consider

Hardware Discussion / top tier FPS mouse for cheap
« on: February 13, 2017, 09:32:51 AM »
For anyone looking to get a top tier optical FPS mouse but has been holding back due to cost.

https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-REVEL-Gaming-Mouse-Light-weight/dp/B01HHGHCH8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486995088&sr=8-1&keywords=nixeus+revel

This has everything you find in the most expensive FPS gaming mice - 3360 sensor (best on the market), lightweight at 84g, omron switches (with 20 million click lifespan), and safe ambi shape that caters to most grip styles.  It's a copy of the steel series sensei shape that everyone loves to grip, but without the garbage laser sensor that steel series has yet to update.
Oh yeah, and it's $38

The box set that comes with a mouse pad and dog tags (why?) is actually cheaper than just the mouse right now, as long as you don't mind the green paint job

Yeah i'm sorry man.  Laser sensors have an inherent amount of acceleration that can't be removed

The 3310 and 3366/3360 sensors are the best opticals that have no problems right now.  Any mouse with either of those sensors will do well, as long as its a weight and shape you can control well

The 3090 sensor is one generation back but also performs admirably for a third option

Best bet is to check out rocket jump ninja's top 40 and pick any one from there that suits you

edit if you do get a kone make sure its the "pure military" edition in any of the 3 colors - the military series Jager uses is the only one with the 3310 sensor you're looking for

Hey Frost
Roccat is a great company, but there are 2 things you should consider here.  The keyboard is solid but not mechanical which most people prefer.  It won't hinder you in game any though and the illumination and design are solid.  The mouse however, while solid for mmo's or any game that needs a lot of keybindings (i've considered it myself for said genres -that's also by far the best price i've seen the tyon go for) has an inaccurate sensor for shooters.  It has some inherent acceleration which will cause you to miss some shots you'd normally hit.  If you need a lot of buttons and want a highly accurate sensor, I'd look at either the g502 or 402 from logitech (502 sensor is slightly better, but it's more expensive and on the heavy side for fps mice).  If buttons don't matter to you go to this sight and pick any mouse that suits you from this guy's list.  They're all good.

Sorry man, I know this isn't exactly the response you wanted, but you play for SJR.  You should have the best stuff!

edit - oh and if you like roccat, Jager has the roccat kone pure military - that version has the amazing sensor

Hardware Discussion / another headphone sale (dt 770 80 ohm this time)

Great audiophile headphone - good sub bass and very comfortable - Siri has a pair
$125 at time of this post - usually around $190ish for the 80 ohm model (80 ohm has most bass for technical reasons i can't recall)
